These images are of a Ford Taurus hitting a steel simulation of a telephone pole at again 62 MPH. These images are of off board crash tests. They were taken at the Federal Highway Administration in Langley Virginia. All impacts are at 62 MPH (100KPH) There are three separate crashes each with at least 2 simultaneous views.

Jet Engine Fuel Injector

This shot uses the K4 colour at 6000 fps and yes you read it right 1/200,000 shutter. This is a jet engine fuel injector operating at both low and high flow conditions. The shot could have been shuttered even faster had a monochrome unit been used.

Race Engine Belt

This shot used an fx 6000 colour at 8000fps and a single HMI light. The shot was tight so the lighting does have some shadowing. The belt is connecting the crankshaft to the dry sump oil pump. The engine is turning in excess of 9000 rpm!! If you look closely you can almost read the logo on the rear water pump belt. If it had just a little more shutter and light. You will also notice that the oil pump belt is just about to come off at this speed.
